After four months of lockdown, Hammersmith BID publishes its COVID-19 Report

Hammersmith BID represents a membership that has been very heavily hit by the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. Alongside other BIDs, much of our work to support the High Street, to promote trade and to provide key services has been dealt a blow as shops, restaurants, beauty salons, gyms, offices, pubs and small traders were forced to close.

Our cultural centres, including the Lyric Hammersmith, and the Eventim Apollo, had to shut their doors. The BID’s usual promotions, competitions, the much-loved Summer Festival and Big Screen events, alongside all of our face-to face interactions with businesses, partners, and visitors have had to be abruptly curtailed.

From the end of March, the Hammersmith BID team also had to find a new way of working, whilst maintaining our support and communication with all of our levy payers. Through a rapid embrace of agile and flexible working, led by BID Director Patricia Bench, Hammersmith BID has been in a strong position to deliver a revised suite of campaigns, support and initiatives from the beginning of the lockdown. We will continue to build upon these as we welcome our businesses and workers back to Hammersmith. This week, the BID has published a full Report of everything that has been done for our levy payers, and for the wider Hammersmith community, throughout the various impacts of coronavirus.
