Who we are

Hammersmith BID is a not-for-profit company, first elected in March 2006, with our mandate renewed for a second 5-year-term in March 2011, a third in February 2016, and our fourth in March 2021. Hammersmith BID provides new and expanded services within the BID area, as identified by the local businesses to improve the working and trading environment.
What is a BID?
A Business Improvement District (BID) is a business-led and business-funded body formed to improve a defined geographical area. A BID can only be formed following consultation and a ballot in which businesses vote on a BID Proposal for the area. The ballot is run by the local authority or outsourced by the local authority to a third party. All businesses eligible to pay the levy are balloted for a minimum of 28 days.
