16 Nov Bespoke bicycle maintenance pop-up events
In addition to the socially distanced and COVID-compliant bike events we have held recently in Lyric Square, Hammersmith BID also provides free, bespoke bicycle services directly to businesses for the benefit of their employees.
We offer a qualified bicycle mechanic who will set up a mobile workshop outside your premises and conduct safety checks on all employees’ bikes.
Our highly professional and friendly Dr Bike will fix minor problems relating to the wheels, brakes, gears, tyre pressure and lights as well as pedals and chain. With anything that can’t be fixed or adjusted on site, advice will be given on exactly what needs doing and a rough guide to what it should cost at a bike shop.
In addition to the maintenance, we also provide free security bike marking on site. This involves attaching a tamper resistant sticker with a unique code onto the cycle frame; these details are then uploaded to the only national database used by the police – BikeRegister. Cycle owners are given access to their own account that can be updated online. The BikeRegister visible code acts as a deterrent to potential thieves and marked bicycles stand a far greater chance of recovery in the event of a theft.
