25 Mar Cross River Partnership secures funding for Clean Air Villages 4
Cross River Partnership has been successful in securing funding from DEFRA’s Air Quality Grant scheme, to launch a new air quality scheme, Clean Air Villages 4 (CAV4). Hammersmith BID is delighted to be a partner in this exciting project.
The CAV4 project builds on the success of previous Clean Air Villages 1 – 3, which delivered a range of initiatives. These include multiple shared electric van schemes; nine zero-emission bike schemes across air pollution hot spots; 14 dedicated Clean Air Routes; and a unique online resource, the Clean Air Villages Directory. This provides information and contact details for businesses and manufacturers offering deliveries, services and products using ultra-low emission methods.
CAV4 aims to delivery ambitious sustainable freight solutions for a Clean Air business recovery from COVID-19. These solutions will be targeted across locations identified by the GLA as areas of high human exposure to poor air quality. They will cover all angles of delivery from policy to consolidated distribution, transport and technology.
There are 23 partners involved in this cross-sector project, including Hammersmith BID and Hammersmith & Fulham Council. We look forward to continue working together to tackle poor air quality as we commit to a greener vision for Hammersmith town centre.
