25 Jan Opening date for IKEA confirmed
IKEA has announced that its new store in Hammersmith will be opening on 24th February.
Based in the previous Kings Mall, now ‘LIVAT Hammersmith’, the new IKEA will have a brand-new small store format, the first of its kind in the UK. The move marks the first time that UK customers will be able to shop a wide range of IKEA products, conveniently on the high street.
Taking inspiration from life at home in London, with a focus on home furnishing accessories and a brand-new food offering, IKEA Hammersmith will feature everything customers know and love about the Swedish retailer while making it easier and quicker to shop their favourite products. The usual Market Hall will be replaced with products located next to the rooms they represent. The store will be approximately one quarter of the size of a traditional IKEA store.
Larger home furniture will also be on display and can be ordered for home delivery or delivery to nearby collection points.
A new Swedish DELI will form part of the new store. Swedish delicacies, including Smörrebröd open sandwiches, Nordic Chicken Caesar and Swedish Mazarin will be available. There will also be variations of IKEA’s traditional meatballs on offer, including plant balls.
The DELI will open at 8am, an hour before the main store opening, to allow access for commuters wanting to pick up breakfast or lunch en route to the office.
