Have your say on TfL’s proposal to change bus routes into central London

UPDATE: TfL has extended the deadline for this consultation until 7th August. Click here to complete it.

TfL have launched a six-week consultation to consider your views on proposed changes to London’s bus network and create as little disturbance as possible.

Click here to see individual routes affected and take TfL’s 15-minute online survey.

The proposals are subject to the outcome of the consultation however, it is estimated there will be a 20 per cent reduction in all London bus routes and a 4 per cent reduction in total bus kilometers. It is also estimated that the number of bus journeys requiring changes will rise from 19 to 24 per cent.

Why are the bus route changes happening?

Following the improved rail services and development of walking and cycling infrastructure in the city the demand for bus service has been declining since 2014. By 2019, the bus services had seen a 9 per cent reduction in the number of passengers, a trend further accelerated by the pandemic.

During the pandemic, the Government provided emergency funding to ensure continued operation of TfL services however, this also involved plans for future savings.
