13 Jul June 2023: Environmental Walkabouts
June 2023
Our Environmental & Street Cleansing Walkabouts support our commitment to creating a resilient town centre. During our Walkabouts, we focus on the issues across the three zones of the BID area, helping to improve the public realm in Hammersmith. During our June Environmental Walkabout, we reported various street cleanliness issues via the lovecleanstreets app.

In June 2023, we reported 40 incidents. Issues with graffiti remain prevalent across Hammersmith but over 50% of other incidents were resolved within the first three weeks of reporting.
Zone 1: Hammersmith Road, Shepherd’s Bush Road and Hammersmith Broadway
Across Zone 1, highway maintenance and graffiti have been the main issues for two consecutive months but the majority of concerns found across Zone 1 in June 2023 have been resolved. This includes, fly-posting on way-finding signs and longer-term pavement obstructions.
Zone 2: King Street, Beadon Road and Hammersmith Grove
Fly-tipping was the main cleansing concern reported across Zone 2 of the BID area. Escalating these incidents supports the cleansing of King Street and all fly-tipping issues have been picked up by the relevant department at Hammersmith & Fulham Council.
Zone 3: Hammersmith Flyover, Talgarth Road and Fulham Palace Road
9 of the 14 incidents across Zone 3 were resolved within three weeks of reporting including 100% of fly-tipping reports. We found construction materials and highway maintenance furniture dumped across Hammersmith’s centre. These materials have been removed to create a more attractive space for employees, residents and visitors in Hammersmith.
