20 Jul Wandsworth Bridge Closure: Bus Route Changes
Following the news that the London Borough of Wandsworth will close Wandsworth Bridge for 10 weeks on Monday 24 July to carry out essential repairs, Transport for London (TfL) have announced changes to their bus routes that usually cross the bridge.
Bus route changes
Bus services usually using Wandsworth Bridge will be diverted or stop short of their usual destinations:
-
-
- Route 28 – For journeys north, Route 28 will begin from Imperial Road. For those travelling south towards the river the final stop will be on Wandsworth Bridge Road.
- Route 295 – Route 295 will begin and end on Wandsworth Bridge Road.
- Route C3 – For journeys north, Route C3 will begin from Townmead Road. The final stop will be on William Morris Way for those travelling south towards the river.
- Route N28 – Route N28 will be diverted across Battersea Bridge.
-
Full details of the temporary changes to the bus routes can be found here.
Active Travel – Walking and Cycling
The bridge will be open to pedestrians and dismounted cyclists throughout the works. For those who can walk or cycle this will likely be the quickest and easiest way to cross the river.
