11 Aug TfL: New Low-Traffic Cycleways
At Hammersmith BID, we aim to keep businesses updated about any changes to cycle infrastructure and want to create a healthier and greener Hammersmith through active travel.
Since 2016, London’s cycle network has expanded from 90km to 340km in 2023. The cycle network expansion is continuing, and TfL has now opened ten new low-traffic cycleways to make cycling more accessible for more Londoners.
The ten new London cycleways will ensure that 550,000 more Londoners live within 400 m of a high-quality cycle network by 2030, supporting the Mayor’s target of ensuring that by 2030, this is the case for 40% of all Londoners. Included among the ten new routes is Cycleway 57, spanning from Hammersmith Bridge to Barnes and connecting to Cycleway 9, supporting community connectivity and a cleaner and greener Hammersmith.
