International Women’s Day 2024, Friday 8 March, is a global celebration of women’s social, economic, cultural, and political achievements throughout history. Various events will take place around Hammersmith to mark the occasion and champion women – join us!
Women’s Safety Forum
Wednesday 6 March 2024 | 4pm to 6pm | Central Hammersmith
Hammersmith BID is hosting a Women’s Safety Forum to mark International Women’s Day (IWD) and Women’s History Month. The discussions will coincide with the IWD theme of “Inspiring Inclusion” giving organisations to discuss best practice and showcase policy changes they have made to create more inclusive workplaces. The session will be followed by a networking social with light refreshments.

Suzy Lamplugh Trust: Stand Up Against Harassment, Bystander Training
The Suzy Lamplugh Trust has partnered with L’Oréal Paris to bring the expert-approved “Stand Up Against Street Harassment” international training programme by “Right To Be”. The lunchtime session on Bystander Training is free of charge to attend.
This programme drives awareness of harassment, upskilling and empowering individuals across various settings such as schools, public transport, festivals, public spaces, and workplaces, to help defuse situations, discourage harassers, and support victims.

Book Launch: Save Me From The Waves by Jessica Hepburn

In line with International Women’s Day, Hammersmith BID is supporting the official launch of Jessica Hepburn’s new book – Save Me From The Waves on Tuesday 5 March.
Jessica’s book details her extraordinary journey from the streets of London to the top of Everest fuelled by her favourite radio programme Desert Island Discs. It’s set to be a unique evening full of conversation, inspiration, laughter and music.

Irish Cultural Centre: Come Here ‘Til I Tell Ya
