21 Feb Hammersmith BID invited to judge school’s local history competition
On Friday 14 February, Hammersmith BID were delighted to be invited to Ravenscourt Park Preparatory School to judge their Year 6 history competition. Notable guest judges included a representative from the H&F Archives, who shared local knowledge and stories with the children.
Pupils created dioramas, quizzes, short films and architectural models of historical figures and local landmarks – including Lyric Hammersmith, Hammersmith Bridge and Chiswick House. They presented their projects to the judges and to an excitable group of younger pupils, who dressed up especially for the occasion.
We were pleased to see the BID acknowledged as part of the area’s more recent history, with History teacher Miss Lamb noting the Made in H&F shop as an exciting new local landmark (albeit temporary!).
