Six days, four conferences! A busy week for the Hammersmith BID team

The Hammersmith BID team had a busy seven days of conferences and industry events across London!

On Wednesday 5 March, our BID Director Livia Caruso was at Westminster for the inaugural meeting of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Town Centres. Chaired by Vikki Slade MP and with cross party support, the group will look at three main areas: crime, town centre investability and funding opportunities. She heard good news stories about town centres – a contrast to the gloomy media narrative – and the group discussed what we need from our towns and why people visit them, the importance of public realm and how we can simplify access to funding.

On Wednesday 26 February, Marketing & Communications Manager Eleanor Swan and our Placemaking Manager Debjani heard expert insight and case studies about the crisis in local government funding and how it’s affecting BIDs and town centres at the ATCM Place Management Conference.

Then the following day, Livia attended the launch of the London Growth Plan, hosted in West London’s Imperial College London.

The same day, our Public Realm Executive Anna Altenau Smith attended the first Women’s Night Safety Summit of 2025, taking away best practice for creating a safer community which will feed into our Women’s Safety Forum and other project areas.

Great to see lots of familiar faces across the events!
