16 Jan Energy Saving in 2026
At Hammersmith BID, we work in alignment with the wider strategies for reaching Net Zero set by the Greater London Authority and Hammersmith & Fulham Council.
By supporting national campaigns, hosting regular forums and offering practical guidance, we help businesses with their sustainability goals while reducing their operational costs.
Energy Saving Week
Energy Saving Week 2026 runs from Monday 19 January to Sunday 25 January 2026. The national campaign, led by Citizens Advice and the Energy Saving Trust, supports businesses and households to reduce energy costs and cut carbon emissions.
Taking part is an effective way for businesses to demonstrate their commitment to sustainability while also making simple cost-saving improvements to day-to-day operations.
How can your business get involved?
Each year, we support Metrikus’ Dark January pledge to #TurnYourBloodyLightsOff. To help minimise energy waste, Metrikus has outlined a few simple actions businesses can take:
- Turn off lights in unoccupied areas
- Review existing energy policies with building and facilities managers
- Encourage colleagues and senior leadership to sign up and get involved
By supporting this pledge, we aim to be at the heart of positive change. We’re encouraging individuals, landlords and businesses in Hammersmith to reduce excess energy consumption by taking the simple step to switch off lights that aren’t in use.
Tuesday 24 February, 12.30 pm – 1.30 pm (Online)
Alongside short-term energy-saving actions, longer-term improvements through building retrofit are vital in supporting the journey to Net Zero.
We’re inviting businesses to our upcoming Lunch ‘n’ Learn about retrofit. The session will provide practical guidance and highlight the key requirements for businesses outlined in the new Hammersmith & Fulham Local Plan.
