08 Apr BID’s Outstanding CCTV Operator picks up two awards from Met Police
The BID’s dedicated CCTV Operator has been praised by the Metropolitan Police for his outstanding work in Hammersmith.
Sid Alba picked up two awards at a recent ceremony celebrating excellence in the Metropolitan Police. One was awarded as part of the CCTV Team of the Year, given to all operators working in the Control Room at Hammersmith Town Hall, the other for his sterling individual work. Sid works as part of the Hammersmith and Fulham Council CCTV team, but is funded by the BID so spends his time focusing solely on helping to deliver a safe and secure Hammersmith town centre.
Having helped to clamp down on the number of drug dealers operating in Hammersmith, the operator was deemed to shown a ‘dedicated and exemplary service to CCTV’ in Hammersmith.
After receiving the award, he said: “Being recognised as the ‘CCTV Team of the Year’ by the Met Police at New Scotland Yard was an honour.
“It was wonderful for all of our hard work making Hammersmith a safer place to live, work and visit to be acknowledged. It was also satisfying for me to know that we have the best CCTV team in London working for Hammersmith and Fulham Council and the BID.
