20 Jul Hammersmith businesses recycle 21 tonnes in June

In June, BID businesses recycled almost 21 tonnes of recycled waste previously destined for landfill, including 1.1 tonnes of food waste.
Food waste is taken by First Mile and recycled using anaerobic digestion to break it down so it can be reused as compost. On top of this allmost 30 tonnes of CO2 emissions were saved and finally enough paper and cardboard was collected and reprocessed to equate to 235 trees.
