20 Jan Businesses recycle 261 tonnes in 2015

During 2015 businesses recycled a whopping 261 tonnes of waste, the equivalent of two and a half Boeing 757 aircraft.
They also saved 375 tonnes of CO2 and saved the equivalent of nearly three thousand trees, enough for over an acre of forest. We wish to expand the recycling scheme as part of our renewal plans so that even more material can be reprocessed and these figures can be dwarfed in the future.
Certificates for businesses will be sent out with their individual totals and a big thank you to everyone who has worked hard to ensure so much recyclable material is saved from going to landfill. For more information on the BID’s recycling service, click here.
