08 Mar Support LBHF’s attempts to improve Hammersmith’s air quality
Hammersmith and Fulham Council is appkying for funding to help reduce the town centre’s dire air quality and it needs the support of local businesses. The council is currently in the process of applying for £1m funding which will be spent on interventions that will improve the air quality of the area. If successful the funding will be spent on:
• Public realm interventions around the boulevard/ flyover/ Apollo theatre
• Improving cycle and walking links around Hammersmith Town Centre and down to the Thames
• Providing support to local businesses to assist them in implementing measures which will improve air quality by reducing the number of deliveries, using electric or low emission vehicles etc
• Providing electric vehicle charging points
• Promoting the issues around air quality and how the council are seeking to address them
As part of the application the council needs to show community support so is urging local businesses to show their support for the funding application by filling in and signing this attached letter of support template or by writing their own letter of support to lynn.ninan@lbhf.gov.uk
