Another Award for Hammersmith BID

Hammersmith BID was delighted to be named as a Silver Award winner in the national COVID Response Awards 2021.

These Awards, staged at the Kia Oval on Thursday, 25 November, paid tribute to the resilience, resourcefulness and tenacity that have underpinned business response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nominated in the Best COVID-19 Community/CSR Response award, the BID was competing against other innovative finalists, including the Brighton Spirit Company; The Estee Lauder Companies UK & Ireland; O2 and Hubbub; and Plymouth Gin.

The BID was chosen for its varied programme of support for Hammersmith businesses and the wider community, that spanned almost an entire year. Our offering included free food parcel deliveries; support for local charities; our Kerbside Entertainment touring festival; reliable security and assistance for businesses who had to close; networking events; additional cleaning; and the launch of our Shop Local Shop Safe campaign, which assisted retailers in reopening. More information about the BID’s response can be found here.

The judges’ comments included the following:

“Sterling work by Hammersmith BID to help the business and local community with food parcels, delivery lifelines and entertainment. This is a true community heroic company that cares. Well done.”

The Gold Award in this category went to White Rose Maths, the home learning resource that assisted young people during the pandemic with free maths learning resources – including a series of maths lessons for each year group from Year 1-10 to allow children to continue their daily maths lessons from home through lockdown.

The Award was collected by Hammersmith BID’s Board Director Sean Moran, of Helix Properties, accompanied by Marketing and Events Executive Alex Akhurst.
