29 Mar Apply to extend outdoor trading areas
As the third lockdown restrictions ease and businesses across Hammersmith reopen in the coming weeks and months, there’s a new initiative from Hammersmith & Fulham Council, designed to help them flourish.
To help local traders hit the ground running, last year’s successful temporary summer campaign Our Space is Your Space has been relaunched , offering local footway space, or other communal public areas as extra trading space.
The campaign will particularly benefit those businesses who would be otherwise unable to open, or who have had to scale down their operations due to social distancing restrictions.
Businesses across the borough are now being invited to apply for a space and it is hoped the campaign will lead to a flurry of new outdoor business operations. These might include al fresco drinking and dining but maybe also outdoor hairdressing and fitness – all while sticking strictly to government guidance on social distancing.
Businesses can offer expressions of interest for outdoor space usage from here. The council will then begin bespoke consultation with shops and retailers.
