August Environmental Walkabout

August Environmental Walkabout

Our Environmental & Street Cleansing Walkabouts support our commitment to creating a resilient town centre. During our Walkabouts, we focus on the issues across the three zones of the BID area, helping to improve the public realm in Hammersmith. During our July Environmental Walkabout, we reported various street cleanliness issues via the lovecleanstreets app.

In August 2023, we escalated 46 incidents via the lovecleanstreets app, the most common issue being graffiti, but almost 80% of the incidents were resolved within two weeks of reporting.

Zone 1: Hammersmith Road, Shepherd’s Bush Road and Hammersmith Broadway

  • Incidents of graffiti and rubbish were the main issues reported in Zone 1 of the BID area.
  • Over 75% of all reported issues, including 100% of concerns around rubbish spillage, were resolved within the first two weeks of reporting.

Zone 2: King Street, Beadon Road and Hammersmith Grove

  • In August, over 80% of all reports across Zone 2 were closed and resolved.
  • There was a rise in abandoned E-Bikes and E-Scooters along King Street in August.
  • However, if you see any E-Bikes or E-Scooters outside of their designated area causing obstruction, Hammersmith & Fulham Council has now made it possible for the community in Hammersmith to report this directly via the lovecleanstreets and will ensure the removal of obstruction within 24 hours.

Zone 3: Hammersmith Flyover, Talgarth Road and Fulham Palace Road

  • 100% of graffiti and fly-tipping reports escalated via the lovecleanstreets app have been dealt with.
  • Only two incidents found across Zone 3 remain unresolved.
