23 Jul Crime Prevention Advice for Hammersmith Retailers
In partnership with the Metropolitan Police, the latest advice we are providing to our retailers this summer focuses on how businesses can reduce crime in their stores and still retain that essential customer experience through the ten principles of crime prevention. This easy-to-use guide provides businesses with a wide range of achievable, realistic, and cost-effective solutions that can be tailored to significantly reduce crime within their premises.
Containing a wide range of loss prevention tips, the step-by-step checklist covers everything from store layout, property tagging and the positioning of stock through to the security of goods yards and entry / exit points. Good quality and well positioned CCTV is also recommended, as is the importance of positively engaging with customers to deter shoplifters.
Once completed, retailers are encouraged to download the Hammersmith BID ShopWatch App to ensure they receive all the latest crime alerts and images of offenders known to target local stores.
The BID continue to work in close partnership with our town centre police team and our BID funded CCTV operator via our SafetyNet radio network to ensure that our business community are fully supported as the national covid restrictions come to an end.
