Innovative BID supported green project wins award

A new sustainability project which has drastically improved water drainage at a Hammersmith housing estate has won an Urban Greening Award.

As part of a multi-partnership programme, Groundwork London – who designed and built the HammersmithLondon Roof Garden at the Lyric Hammersmith – have implemented new and innovative solutions for water attenuation at the Queen Caroline Estate. In partnership with HammersmithLondon and the council, Groundwork have transformed the estate’s open spaces into high quality, multi-functional green spaces that tackle flood risk, promote urban greening and are attractive places to be.

The Climate Proofing Housing Landscapes Programme won the Urban Greening Award at The Sustainable Water Industry Group Awards. HammersmithLondon is committed to supporting sustainable infrastructure in the BID area.
