09 Aug Guided cycling tours
On Friday 6th August, in celebration of Cycle to Work Day and following our Dr Bike event on the 5th August, Hammersmith BID and Hammersmith & Fulham Council hosted the first of a series of lunchtime cycling tours.
The event was open to everyone, and involved a 45 minute cycle around the Hammersmith area, including Brackenbury Village, Furnivall Gardens, and Chiswick High Road.
With both a cycle guide, and a qualified instructor to reassure participants, the tour included road safety information; tips on positioning and junctions; traffic awareness; as well as the exploration of green and low traffic routes.
The intention of the tour was to encourage people to jump on their bikes and to start building confidence to commute and travel more sustainably.
The BID, in partnership with Hammersmith & Fulham Council, will be putting on further tours for our businesses and employees. Spare bicycles are available, please check when booking.
