Since 2006 the BID has funded extra police officers in the town centre. Not only do they carry out regular business visits each month but are instrumental in organising sting operations around the town centre.
Drug enforcement operations, stop and searches and knife arch initiatives have all helped to reduce crime in the borough to an historic low, a trend which looks set to continue.
Joined by HammersmithLondon staff, the BID-funded Police Constables also regularly man stands in Lyric Square to promote personal safety and offer crime prevention advice.
- 4 additional police constables funded by the BID
- 9, 152 hour on patrol in the BID area
- 290 arrests made last year by the Safer Neighbourhood Team, over 100 of which were carried out by BID funded officers
