23 May Hammersmith Summer Festival is back with a Summer of Sports!
We’re excited to bring you our 17th Summer Festival. This year, alongside live Wimbledon, free film nights, wellbeing and climate action activities, we’re celebrating a summer of sports with special events and live action from the Paris Olympic Games on our Big Screen in Lyric Square!
A Summer of Sports
It’s time to get inspired by our sporting heroes. As well as our free live screenings of Wimbledon (1-14 July), the Olympics (26 July – 11 August), and our regular wellness events on the square, we have some special collaborations with Fulham FC Foundation (15-16 July and 22-23 July) and Chelsea FC Foundation (6 August) that everyone can get involved in.
Free Film Nights
Our popular free film nights are back, 17, 19 and 25 July. Take a seat in one of our deckchairs and enjoy our mix of blockbusters and family favourites this July. To launch the first film on Wednesday 17 July, we’ll be showing BARBIE on the Big Screen. Come dressed in pink!
Feel Good Tuesdays
Join us on Tuesday lunchtimes for free fitness classes, wellbeing workshops and taster sessions to keep you feeling good. Local favourites Lumi Power Yoga will be back with their free lunchtime sessions. Full programme coming soon.
Climate Festival & our Clothes Swap is back!
To celebrate London Climate Action Week, we’ll be hosting a Climate Festival on Lyric Square on Wednesday 26 June. Activities will include Dr Bike and Bike Marking, e-scooter training and biodiversity activities to help you contribute towards a greener Hammersmith. We’re also bringing back our Clothes Swap inside Livat Hammersmith from 27 to 29 June.
Picnic in the Square
Bring a picnic or grab lunch from one of Hammersmith’s many eateries to enjoy on Lyric Square. Make use of the free Hammersmith BID deckchairs and picnic tables and soak up the atmosphere.
Make Music Day
Make Music Day is back for a day of joyful music-making on Friday 21 June. Come down to Livat Hammersmith to hear performances from talented local musicians.
Free Guided Walks
Discover something new about Hammersmith’s rich history and heritage on one of our free guided walks. This summer, we’ll be going back in time to 1944, learning about the Thames Tideway ‘super sewer’, and reminiscing on the time the Olympics came to west London back in 1908.
