15 Mar Have Your Say: Taxi and PHV passenger safety!
Have your say! Help improve safety for taxi and private hire vehicle (PHV) passengers across London!
Transport for London (TfL) is reviewing taxi and private hire licensing across London.
The 3-part consultation seeks to improve passenger safety, especially the safety of children, disabled people, and vulnerable adults. The consultation seeks your views on how to implement 10 proposals for reducing crime and making it easier for passengers to report problems with services they experience.
Part 1: The first part of the consultation covers TfL’s plans to introduce the new standards and proposals to improve criminal record checks, assess taxi drivers’ safety, and improve the records of private hire vehicles.
Part 2: Secondly, the consultation seeks suggestions about making taxis safer and how passengers can carry out licenses before their journey.
Part 3: The final part of the consultation covers nine extra proposals for PHV operators.
End of Consultation: 12 May 2023
This consultation will inform a consultation report and a subsequent decision on changes to licensing requirements.
