16 Feb Taking action to support homeless people in Hammersmith
As we all face the threat of coronavirus, and are living through lockdown, our normal way of life has been turned on its head and it is easy to forget the most vulnerable in our communities. However, the wellbeing of everyone in the town centre remains a priority for Hammersmith BID.
Hammersmith BID is committed to helping our local homeless charities to raise funds for additional beds, hot meals, washing facilities, outreach services and life skills coaching through our Small tap, big change initiative. Please visit our dedicated webpage to find out how you or your business can get involved in fundraising activity to support our homeless charities here in Hammersmith, or simply to make a donation.
In addition to Small tap, big change, we continue to work closely with Hammersmith and Fulham Council and outreach services to ensure that people who may be rough sleeping in the cold winter months are swiftly provided with support and a roof over their heads.
To contribute to our community partnership approach and really make a difference; we would highly recommend that you register with StreetLink today. StreetLink is a website, mobile phone app and telephone service through which people can take positive action when they see someone sleeping rough by sending an alert that connects that person to local services for support.
Small tap, big change has recently launched its own Instagram account; smalltap_bigchange, so do follow us for the latest updates and illustrations of the work that is being done.
