Hugely successful Made in H&F Pop-Up Shop returns to Kings Mall

The Made in H&F Pop-Up Shop is back up and running in Kings Mall, following the overwhelming success of its initial launch at the end of last year.

Hammersmith BID, in partnership with Hammersmith & Fulham Council and Kings Mall, have transformed an empty unit in the shopping centre into a bright, well-designed outlet, showcasing the best arts, crafts and clothing from talented local makers. The affordable retail space will provide the perfect platform for up-and-coming local entrepreneurs to display their wares.

Over 20 artists and craft makers showcased a wide range of locally-produced goods during the shop’s first run from October through to the end of 2018. The store proved hugely popular, with thousands of customers flocking in during the busy Festive Season.

The aim is to provide an outlet for start-ups offering the best arts and crafts made in the borough. Following the resounding success of the initial run, Hammersmith BID, Hammersmith & Fulham Council and Kings Mall have reopened the store for its second term, for a much greater extended period. The pop-up shop will provide Hammersmith’s creative traders an attractive arena to sell their goods.

Patricia Bench, BID Director, Hammersmith BID said: “We are so pleased to have the pop-up shop back open in Kings Mall. The feedback we had after the first Made in H&F project was overwhelmingly positive, with both the traders and customers who used the shop in the run-up to Christmas full of praise for the project.

“It was abundantly clear that there was a real hunger from the public for somewhere for them to buy locally made, high-quality products. We were always determined to make sure the outlet returned and seeing the positive response only reinforced that determination.”

Cllr Andrew Jones, H&F Cabinet Member for the Economy and the Arts said: “The Made in H&F pop-up shop is a fantastic example of our Industrial Strategy in action. We’re working hard to give local entrepreneurs all the support they need to start, thrive and grow in the borough as we strive to make H&F the best place to live, work and play in Europe.”

Andrew Proctor, Kings Mall Centre Manager said: “We are pleased to be able to welcome Made in H&F back to King’s Mall. The pop-up shop is a very important project to the shopping centre, and as such we are very happy to be able to provide the unit space and financial investment to help make it possible. Hammersmith and Fulham is bursting at the seams with creative talent and this pop-up is one of the ways we are helping the local community showcase their wonderful work.”

The successful artists who will sell their products at the shop, including a number of entrepreneurs that featured in the Made in H&F outlet in 2018, were carefully selected following a vigorous application process.

Those showcasing their work include: Per Gudnitz, ART599, Susan Warren, Diane Comte Frost, Purpose & Worth etc, Keira Rathbone Typewriter Art, Carmen and Colours, Moon Karma, J’NetteDesignz, Lovely Little Gifts, KC Loves, Kat Campbell Illustration, La Galeria Design, A Bag Less Ordinary, Sabine Fouchier Millinery & Feltmaking, Immy London and Crazie Vibes.

The store will be open from 10am-6pm Monday to Saturday and 11am-5pm on Sundays.
