10 Apr National Stalking Awareness Week 2024
At Hammersmith BID, we are dedicated to working with businesses and key stakeholders to create a safe and accessible town centre, night, and day, for all women and girls. Next week marks National Stalking Awareness Week, from Monday 22 – Friday 26 April 2024, and as part of our commitment to women’s safety we want to highlight our work with WalkSafe and the Suzy Lamplugh Trust.
WalkSafe
Hammersmith BID has teamed up with WalkSafe, the UK’s leading personal safety app to plot official safe venues on the map in Hammersmith. WalkSafe is free to download and allows you to plan a safer journey. Get the app and browse its safety features, from sharing live journeys with friends to highlighting safer routes.
Suzy Lamplugh Trust
The Suzy Lamplugh Trust works to reduce stalking and harassment through education and training. You can find a list of upcoming events on their website, including their ‘National Stalking Awareness Week Conference 2024’ and FREE Bystander Training sessions, delivered in partnership with L’Oreal Paris.
National Stalking Awareness Week Conference 2024
The theme for National Stalking Awareness Week is “Join Forces Against Stalking”, with the upcoming conference shedding light on the important role multi-agency work can play in supporting victims. You can sign up here.
Stand Up Against Harassment Training
The expert approved ‘Stand Up Against Street Harassment’ Bystander Training sessions drive awareness of harassment, upskilling and empowering individuals across various settings, to help defuse situations, discourage harassers, and support victims. Hammersmith BID has already supported several local businesses, including Accor Invest, Disney and Romulus, to train their staff. If you are interested in joining the network of Hammersmith employees who have taken part in the course or bespoke training, please email us and sign up here.
