15 May Monthly Police Update
BID officers have come across some rather interesting incidents in the town centre over the past month.
Whilst generally the Hammersmith area has been relatively calm in terms of town centre crime, there have been a few rather unusual issues to deal with.
In the last month they have arrested a woman using foil lined bags to hide over £100 worth of stolen meat, a woman who picked up a suitcase from a shop and filled it with other items to shoplift and a man found carrying an illegal lock knife.
Whilst anti-social behaviour calls to police on the Broadway Ward have decreased 10% since last year, there are still issues in and around the BID area. Just outside the area a Cannabis factory was discovered and 36 plants and hydroponic equipment were recovered.
There has also been an increase in distraction thefts, a suspect has been seen entering a business and distracting patrons whilst snatching their phone, if you see anything or anyone acting suspicious, please call 101 or you can contact Matthew at the BID office on 020 3362 4626.
