13 Feb BID Police Update
The HammersmithLondon police team have been hard at work arresting criminals in the BID area for a variety of different crimes.
Shoplifters have been detained and arrested in conjunction with Kings Mall and Broadway security teams for shoplifting and being anti-social. One male was identified by the BID CCTV operator and was arrested for attempted theft and for an assault on store security staff. Another man was arrested for being drunk and disorderly after he urinated inside the shopping centre. These and other incidents were promptly dealt with by the BID police team and their details will be added to the Shopwatch database.
As well as their response work, the team have been pro-actively targeting areas of Hammersmith that have recently seen spikes in specific crimes leading them to become hotspots. A recent spike in theft from the motor vehicles has led to an ongoing operation to catch offenders breaking into cars around the BID area and lower the number of offences as a result. The operation has been going well and we expect the offence totals to reach minimum leaves in the foreseeable future.
