10 Aug Recent developments in counter terrorism for businesses
As town centres start to regain some semblance of normality, the threat of terrorism, unfortunately, remains a reality and continues to pose an ongoing risk to town centres, crowded places and communities.
Businesses and commuters should continue to be vigilant, despite the additional threats and distractions posed by COVID-19. It is always worth considering how your business can become even better equipped to keep your customers, personnel and the general public safe in the event of a terrorist attack.
There are two recent developments in counter terrorism that the Hammersmith BID team has highlighted, and would highly recommend.
Firstly, the Action Counters Terrorism (ACT) app. This counter terrorism tool is a must for all businesses and is free to access. It provides the user with the very latest counter-terrorism information, including alerts about live incidents across the UK via instant messaging; advice and guidance on protection of your colleagues and customers; access to life-saving advice; and news and bulletins directly from NaCTSO. More information, an illustrative video, and details about how to access the app are available here.
Secondly, we’re pleased to inform our business community that our security partners from counter-terrorism policing are adapting to the rapidly changing landscape of home working and social distancing restrictions, and will now be making their highly informative training packages available to Hammersmith businesses online. These ACT Awareness and SCaN training products will now be delivered over a secure network to groups of up to 8, via Microsoft Teams. To find out more, please read here.
