Businesses recycle whopping 23,000 kilos in September

Almost 4,500 sacks of co-mingled reyclable waste were collected from the area in September, meaning that businesses helped to divert almost 23,000 kilos of waste from landfill.

This is a saving of more than 22 tonnes, which takes the yearly total to 270 tonnes – the equivalent of three and a half Concorde planes. During the month 31.75 tonnes of CO2 were saved, the equivalent of 255 trees which when added to the yearly total makes 400 tonnes of C02 saved and over 3,000 trees.
