23 Jul Safer Travel Webinar reveals developments in cycling infrastructure
Hammersmith BID hosted its eleventh lockdown webinar on Tuesday 14 July, inviting levy payers to hear the very latest updates from TfL, LBHF and our transport partners.
Whilst learning about the progress of TfL’s extensive Streetspace programme, businesses were able to appreciate the positive impact of increased cycle lanes, some of which are proposed to become permanent. Hammersmith & Fulham has been awarded significant funding through Streetspace which is designed to help people walk and cycle more easily; and we can expect to see pavement widening and cycle facilities within the Borough be further expanded and improved.
The group also heard from Zipcar for Business, with a variety of flexible options to help businesses with cost-efficient delivery and transport needs, including a year’s free membership offer and more for BID businesses.
Bikeworks, which has continued its safer travel initiatives throughout lockdown, also presented about their work, putting on online cycle safety seminars; online bicycle maintenance sessions; and latterly, a Bike Buddying scheme, which helps new commuters negotiate their route to work on a bicycle. More details of these services can be found here.
TfL’s industry-specific briefing documents can be found here, with additional toolkits to help businesses retime their deliveries and waste collections here.
