Security advice for retailers and customer-facing businesses

To ensure that Hammersmith town centre remains a safe and enjoyable place to work and to visit, the BID is working closely with the Metropolitan Police and Hammersmith and Fulham Council through our Business Crime Reduction Partnership (BCRP) to support our retailers, pubs, restaurants, banks and businesses throughout May.

This summer, we are providing guidance to the retail sector on the latest crime prevention and safety advice issued by the National Business Crime Centre and working together to create solutions for a better town centre. Please see this important guide for further details.

Complementing existing head office policies already in place, we will be implementing a number of measures in partnership with local managers and security teams to assist with risk assessments and safety procedures. We will continue to offer training in the use of our SafetyNet radios that connect directly to CCTV.

We are also pleased to be introducing a new BCRP feature, with the full backing of the police and Council, that will assist in the identification and banning of persistent offenders from the town centre.

Recent activity that the BID has initiated that has really made a difference includes providing personal attack alarms to local employees, and offering bespoke crime prevention advice to lone workers.
