16 Dec BID Security Team stop shoplifters in their tracks
Stolen goods worth £2,500 were retrieved after the security from a prominent King Street retailer, the BID Safer Neighbourhood Team and plain clothed officers from the MET swooped in and stopped the thieves in their tracks.
The BID’s CCTV operator was advised by the retailer’s guards that a group of potential shoplifters were positioned at the front of the store. The group of thieves were taking it in turns to watch out for security as they all concealed items in an attempt to carry out a bulk theft. Vigilantly watching so as not to disrupt, the plain clothes officers and SNT team were advised to wait outside by the operator.
As the group left the store with a suitcase containing over £2,000 worth of items, the team pounced, detained and arrested the criminals.
