25 Jul Rounding up our Summer Festival 2023
For the past two months, our Summer Festival 2023 has been in full swing, and we have hosted a multitude of free events for residents and employees to enjoy. There have been some unforgettable highlights this year, including watching the Wimbledon Final on the Big Screen, the film nights, London Climate Action Week events and more. Plus, there are still events to come – our free Lunchtime Concerts at St Pauls are back!
Entertainment on the Big Screen
From film nights to sports, Hammersmith was welcome to relax in a deckchair and enjoy a free evening of entertainment. This year, we decided to screen Top Gun: Maverick, NT Live: Life of Pi and Disney’s Luca, and were thrilled to have our screen sponsored by Livat Hammersmith. We also streamed all Wimbledon key matches and the beginning of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Wellness Wednesdays
Joined by Lumi Power Yoga and Jetts Hammersmith, we hosted four weeks of Wellness Wednesdays on Lyric Square. Lumi Power Yoga focused on matching movement with breath for the first two weeks while Jetts wrapped up the sessions with High-Intensity workouts.
Breathwork coach Aliyah was also on the Square with Livat offering free 30-minute breathwork sessions. The class rebalanced the mind and encouraged the practice of self-love.
London Climate Action Week (LCAW)
Hammersmith BID hosted a variety of events to celebrate London Climate Action Week (LCAW) from Tuesday 26 to Friday 30 June. We started the week with a variety of free activities including free bike maintenance check, bike marking, wildflower planting and more. Mid-week we hosted a community litter picking event and welcomed locals to join us clean up the town. Teaming up with Livat, we finished up the week with a clothes swap!
Picnic in the Square
Employees, students, and residents joined our Picnic in The Square. We brought our picnic benches back to Lyric Square for people to enjoy their lunch whilst soaking up the sun!
