Hammersmith BID’s Summer Festival is back for 2023, bringing an eclectic mix of FREE sports, film nights and entertainment for the Hammersmith community to enjoy. This year, Livat Hammersmith is exclusively sponsoring the festival, and will also be teaming up with Hammersmith BID to bring a range of community-focused events to the extensive programme.
Don’t miss a single shot with live action from Wimbledon
Catch all the action from SW19 on the Big Screen in Lyric Square, which will be showing Wimbledon live every day from Monday 3 July to Sunday 16 July. Grab lunch from one of Hammersmith’s many eateries and take the perfect (ad)vantage point in one of the Hammersmith BID deck chairs!
Embark on an adventure with NT Live: Life of Pi
This year, catch a screening of the National Theatre’s breath-taking Life of Pi (19 July). Puppetry, magic and storytelling combine in a unique, Olivier Award-winning stage adaptation of the best-selling novel. Watch the trailer.
Free film nights at our open-air screenings
Aviators at the ready… The exhilarating Top Gun: Maverick is the first of the Summer Festival’s popular film nights this year (28 June). Then be taken on an unforgettable story of courage in Disney’s Luca on (21 July). Marking the start of the school holidays, this screening will be geared to Hammersmith’s youngest residents with cushions and astroturf to provide extra seating.
London Climate Action Week
A week of climate action in Lyric Square and Livat Hammersmith (26 to 30 June) is aimed at inspiring Hammersmith residents to make small changes or try something new to protect our climate and local biodiversity. A Beekeeper Talk and Wildflower Planting (27 June) will show the importance of bees to our local ecosystem and how we can all encourage more wildlife in Hammersmith. Livat will be hosting a Community Clothes Swap (29 and 30 June), getting residents involved in the circular economy, and the BID will be running a Community Litter Pick (28 June) for all to join in with.
Free fitness classes every Wednesday lunchtime
Hammersmith is home to a wealth of gyms and fitness studios, and every Wednesday lunchtime during the festival (28 June, 5, 12 and 19 July) we’ll be welcoming a different class to Lyric Square for residents and local workers to try out.

Our popular Picnic in the Square is back too (26-28 June and 17-19 July), and our live music series at St Paul’s Green (25-27 July). Stay tuned for more details and events to be announced over the coming weeks.
