31 Mar The last 12 months in review: our Annual Report
Every April, we take a look back at the last 12 months to produce our Annual Report. It’s been a busy year for Hammersmith BID, packed with exciting events, progress on major public realm projects and security initiatives, plus our successful Ballot in October.
Today marks the start of our fifth term and 20th year working for Hammersmith! Stay tuned for more ways we’re celebrating 20 years of Hammersmith BID, and take a look at some of our highlights from the last 12 months below:
Public Realm & Green Investment
- We pledged to #KeepBritainTidy, leading six litter picks with 82 volunteers from local companies, including Accor, CAA and Disney, and our walkabouts have resulted in 359 environmental reports to help keep a tidy public realm.
- Our seasonal lighting lit up Hammersmith over the festive period and throughout the darker winter months, plus we’ve maintained our #Hammersmith sign in Lyric Square for added pride of place.
- Our Public Realm Vision for Hammersmith East has continued to progress; we have unlocked funding from public and private stakeholders to add more greenery and colour-changing lights under the Flyover.
Security & Resilience
- Through our Safer Business Network Engagement Officer, we made 1,870 visits to Hammersmith businesses in 2025 alone, recovering £50,299 in stolen goods. And our businesses have reported 554 incidents and 362 offenders via Alert, our GDPR-compliant reporting app.
- We ran 12 Dr Bike sessions for Hammersmith’s workers, servicing and/or marking 113 bikes.
- Our Women’s Safety Forum, BuildingWatch, ShopWatch, Transport & Environment Forum and BCRP Forum continue to offer a valuable space for businesses to report and share issues they are experiencing with the appropriate stakeholders and find resolutions for these.
Community & Partnerships
- The Summer Festival continues as our flagship event, entertaining over 90,000 people, up 26% against the previous year, with our marketing campaign seen by over 300,000 people.
- Our Made in H&F shop continued to thrive, with further stints in the Broadway Centre and Livat, and to date has brought in over £100,000 for independent makers.
- We launched Conscious Hammersmith, building on our track record of providing tangible ways for businesses to give back locally through events like regular foodbank collections and our Winter Clothing Drive, which collected 251 items.
We look forward to celebrating our 20 YEARS in Hammersmith over the next 12 months, kicking off with our first ever Boat Race event on 3 and 4 April!
As always, thanks to our businesses, board members and collaborators for their ongoing support.
