23 Feb Transport for London (TfL), Equity in Motion
TfL have published their new customer plan, Equity in Motion, to help create a fairer, more accessible, and inclusive network for everyone.
The new plan commits to over 80 new actions to be delivered over the next six years. The goal is to ensure as many Londoners as possible can access and benefit from public transport and that London’s transport network is welcoming and inclusive. The plan focuses on:
- creating an equitable customer experience
- protecting and enhancing connectivity
- keeping travel affordable
- reducing health inequalities
The wide-ranging commitments cover key areas for improvements around keeping customers safe, accessible travel, understanding customers, affordable travel, inclusive information and connecting Londoners. Some of the commitments include:
- Expanding the Project Guardian school sessions of sexual harassment
- Making it easier for people to report safety concerns
- Launching an innovation challenge to improve travel for disabled people
- New research to understand the needs of a range of different communities across London
- Creating a new inclusive Design Centre of Excellence
The plan seeks to support the delivery of a more equitable, safe, green, and prosperous city.
