Well-attended fundraising tea party

Hammersmith BID supported a Chari-tea fundraising tea party in Lyric Square, presented by 10 Hammersmith Grove, which took place on 21 September.

All proceeds from the event will go to Small tap, big change, the BID’s fundraising initiative for homeless charities based in H&F. Representatives from Baron’s Court, The Upper Room and Glass Door were all in attendance. To date, the money raised from the event has reached almost £750, from an initial target of £500.

The event was well attended by Hammersmith’s businesses, including guests from Fitness First, HSBC, Rebel and LBHF with around 30 pre-sold tickets; as well as a stream of walk-ins who dropped by to watch the event’s comedians; to purchase a takeaway tea box; or to just enjoy proceedings. The social enterprise HomeLess Made had a pop-up stand, selling cards designed and created by artists with experience of homelessness or mental health conditions.

Food for the tea party was donated by local businesses Novotel London West, Belushi’s, IF Panzerotto and Big Fat Greek Baking. Prosecco was on hand for any guests who wanted it.

Alongside the tea party – an online raffle is running. Prizes include a waterproof camera; accommodation for one night for two at IBIS Earls Court; a meal for 2 at the Hop Poles; a beautiful box of chocolates from Hotel Chocolat and an artwork from Keira Rathbone. Again – all proceeds will go to Small tap, big change. Tickets can be purchased for the raffle until early October here.

If any Hammersmith businesses would like to propose events or activities to support charitable enterprises, please get in touch with the BID team for advice, guidance and support.
