STOP THE TRAFFIK and Shiva Foundation have pooled their expertise and knowledge to develop a free toolkit: “A practical guide for SMEs on how to mitigate the risk of modern slavery in their operations”.
The resource offers quick and accessible steps for SMEs. It includes features such as a simple risk self-assessment, practical steps to protect employees, and clear guidance on how to report modern slavery concerns.
Modern slavery prevention presents an opportunity for SMEs. As both the private and public sectors are increasingly focused on modern slavery in their procurement decisions; mitigating modern slavery risk could be a way for small and medium size businesses to stand out amongst competitors and demonstrate their values, whilst also contributing to modern slavery prevention efforts.
