20 Feb February 2023: Environmental & Street Cleansing Walkabouts
Alongside our Green Volunteering: Litter Picking, our Environmental & Street Cleansing Walkabouts support Hammersmith BID’s commitment to creating a more resilient and attractive town centre.
Reporting the Environmental Walkabouts
Environmental and Street Cleanliness issues are documented by the lovecleanstreets app. Supported by Keep Britain Tidy, the app allows you to make reports which reach the right team within the authority, in this case, Hammersmith and Fulham Council. The app enables you to report on a variety of issues that are negatively impacting the public realm. The issues reported include:
-
-
- Highway Maintenance
- Highway Obstructions
- Maintenance of parklets and hanging baskets
- Rubbish
- Cleansing
- Graffiti
- Fly-tipping
- Fly-posting
-
Delivery of Environmental Walkabouts
Hammersmith BID has split the town centre into 3 zones, focusing on the different Environmental issues faced across each.

-
-
- Zone 1 – Broadway
- Zone 2 – King Street
- Zone 3 – Talgarth Road

February 2023
In February 2023, there were different issues across the 3 zones. 53 different incidents were reported via the lovecleanstreets app and within 2 weeks, 41 incidents were solved, and the rest remain in progress.
Zone 1: Highway Maintenance and Graffiti were the main things reported in Zone 1. While not all incidents were resolved by the end of the month, 75% of Graffiti was removed within the first week of reporting.
Zone 2: Graffiti, Fly-tipping, and Rubbish Spillage were pinpointed as the most common across Zone 2. Within the first week of reporting, more than 85 % of the issues were resolved, including 100 % of Graffiti and Fly-tipping.
Zone 3: Incidents of Highway Obstructions and Graffiti were identified across Zone 3, and after 2 weeks only 2/6 issues remain unresolved.
