10 May A very royal weekend in Hammersmith
On Saturday 6 May, we joined the King Street Coronation Party thrown by Hammersmith and Fulham Council to celebrate the crowning of King Charles III.
Despite the rain, we had a great day filled with activities and entertainment. There was a big screen showing the ceremony alongside a street food market in Lyric Square. King Street was pedestrianised welcoming traders, two live music stages, and a Mad Hatters Tea Party to occupy the road.
Hammersmith BID, in partnership with Starlight Children’s Foundation, hosted royal activities including face painting, crown making, and a Coronation Trail. Privilege Card holders were also welcome to enjoy a free soft drink!
The Coronation Trail successfully led 80 participants around Hammersmith shops in search of ten letters to make up the royal phrase and raised £100 for Starlight. Mini Union Jack flags were handed out as an immediate prize for completing the trail.
The winner of the Coronation Raffle will be announced shortly. Prizes include a £100 Turtle Bay Voucher, and other goodies, courtesy of Starlight Charity, as a result of completing the royal phrase.
