25 May Women’s Safety Forum – June 7
Women’s Safety Forum – Every woman has a right to feel safe in her city.
The next Hammersmith BID Women’s Safety Forum is on Wednesday 7 June 2023, in central Hammersmith.
Hammersmith BID will provide updates on our work to support Hammersmith in becoming somewhere women and girls feel safe. The BID will then hand over to our guest speakers, Jessica Twomey and Sarah Walker.
Jessica Twomey is an LBHF Community Safety Officer and chairs H&F’s Hate Crime Steering Group. Jessica will present to the group on hate crime, noting that sex and gender reassignment are characteristics protected by law; and the links between misogyny and hate crime.
Sarah Walker is the Project Manager leading the Women’s Night Safety Charter work in London for the Safer Business Network. Sarah believes that effective partnership working is key to making a real difference in the safety and perception of our towns and cities, both nationally and internationally and will speak about her organisation’s work and impact, including their online toolkit, the roll-out of Ask for Angela in gyms and moving the Charter into the daytime economy.
