May 2023: Environmental Walkabouts

May Environmental Walkabout

Our Environmental & Street Cleansing Walkabouts support our commitment to creating a resilient town centre. During our May Environmental Walkabout, we reported various environmental and street cleanliness issues negatively impacting Hammersmith’s public realm via the lovecleanstreets app. During our walkabouts, we focus on the issues across the three zones of the BID area.

May 2023

In May 2023, we reported 39 incidents via the lovecleanstreets app. Almost half of the reports in May related to graffiti, but now that we are at the end of May, around 85% of the reported incidents have been resolved.

Zone 1: Hammersmith Road, Shepherd’s Bush Road and Hammersmith Broadway

Highway maintenance and graffiti were the main cleansing concerns across Zone 1. However, a resolution for the 11/13 reported incidents has been found. Following the reporting, replacements have been found for missing bin doors, abandoned bike locks have been detached from railings and graffiti on highway maintenance furniture has been removed.

Zone 2: King Street, Beadon Road and Hammersmith Grove

Of the 13 incidents reported across Zone 2, only two remain unresolved. The majority of graffiti has gone and all cases of fly-tipping are solved.

Zone 3: Hammersmith Flyover, Talgarth Road and Fulham Palace Road

Since reporting at the beginning of May, a resolution for 11/13 incidents has been found. Almost half of the issues along Hammersmith Flyover, Talgarth Road and Fulham Palace Road involved graffiti. However, the majority of incidents of graffiti have been resolved. In addition, abandoned highway maintenance furniture along Fulham Palace Road has been removed and broken way-finding signs have been fixed.
