April 2023: Environmental Walkabouts

April Environmental Walkabout

Our Environmental & Street Cleansing Walkabouts support our commitment to creating a resilient town centre. The various environmental and street cleanliness issues negatively impacting Hammersmith’s public realm are reported via the lovecleanstreets app. During our walkabouts, we focus on the issues across the three different zones that make up the BID area.

April 2023

In April 2023, we reported 58 incidents via the lovecleanstreets app. Now that we are at the end of the month, over 80% of the reports are closed.

Zone 1: Hammersmith Road, Shepherd’s Bush Road and Hammersmith Broadway

While rubbish and graffiti were the main cleansing concerns across Zone 1, 100% of these issues were managed within the first two weeks of reporting. The few more long-term highway obstructions are currently in the process of being resolved.

Zone 2: King Street, Beadon Road and Hammersmith Grove

Of the 32 incidents reported this month, the majority of which were issues of fly-posting, only two concerns remain unresolved. Across Zone 2, 96% of the reports were dealt with and completed.

Zone 3: Hammersmith Flyover, Talgarth Road and Fulham Palace Road

While the fly-posting and fly-tipping concerns were dealt with promptly, only 50% of the issues across this zone are currently resolved. However, during our walkabout this week, the BID team recorded and took pictures of these ongoing issues and escalated them once more.
