July 2023: Environmental Walkabouts

July Environmental Walkabout

Our Environmental & Street Cleansing Walkabouts support our commitment to creating a resilient town centre. During our Walkabouts, we focus on the issues across the three zones of the BID area, helping to improve the public realm in Hammersmith. During our July Environmental Walkabout, we reported various street cleanliness issues via the lovecleanstreets app.

July 2023

In July 2023, we reported 40 incidents via the lovecleanstreets app, the most common issue being graffiti. 80% of the incidents were resolved within two weeks of reporting.

Zone 1: Hammersmith Road, Shepherd’s Bush Road and Hammersmith Broadway

Alongside incidents of graffiti and fly-posting, of which over 90% of cases were dealt with within two weeks, we also came across E-Scooter obstructions in Zone 1. However, once reported these were dealt with in less than 24 hours.

If you see any E-Bikes or E-Scooters outside of their designated area causing obstruction, Hammersmith & Fulham Council have now made it possible for the community in Hammersmith to report this directly via the lovecleanstreets app or via Hammersmith & Fulham’s Report It webpage.

Zone 2: King Street, Beadon Road and Hammersmith Grove

Across Zone 2, issues included highway obstructions and incidents of fly-tipping and fly-posting, but 75% of all the concerns were resolved within the first two weeks after reporting. Furthermore, the persistent longer-term issues have been escalated to the correct department at Hammersmith & Fulham Council.

Zone 3: Hammersmith Flyover, Talgarth Road and Fulham Palace Road

100% of the issues across Zone 3 involved graffiti. Incidents were found under the flyover and by the Apollo, but following reporting, all concerns were resolved within one week.
