26 Nov Hammersmith Winter Festival
On Saturday 16 November, Hammersmith & Fulham Council hosted their annual Hammersmith Winter Festival. On the day, King Street was pedestrianised and market stalls filled the street with local traders selling a variety of items including original artwork, jewellery and more.
Street performers roamed King Street and Lyric Square, including Bridie the Tea Lady, Hammersmith Morris dancers, and many others, even Santa himself! Live music was a constant feature of the festival, local musicians performed on the smaller stages located at the top and tail of King Street while bigger acts including the Irish Cultural Centre and the Whitney Houston Tribute Band performed on the bigger stage in Lyric Square. Lastly, there was a seasonal food quarter that offered a variety of cuisine options, plus an outdoor seating area.
Hammersmith BID’s stall was located outside H&M where we served tea and coffee to Privilege Card holders. We also hosted a Christmas Bauble Trail that guided families around Hammersmith businesses to unlock the Christmas phrase. The trail was an incentive to increase awareness of businesses in the town centre while offering a free festive game for participants to enjoy. Each entry won a pair of antler ears as a prize plus all entries were entered into a raffle to win a further £50 Turtle Bay voucher.
