11 Mar Hammersmith Ambassador a welcome sight
The HammersmithLondon ambassador has proven to be a great success, with businesses, residents and visitors all delighted by her presence in the town centre.
Joining Hammersmith BID in November 2014, Luisa is on hand to welcome people to the area, provide information and directions and to liaise directly with businesses in the town centre. With her bright red jacket and distinctive bowler hat, she has become a warm and friendly addition to Hammersmith.
Over the past three and a half months, she has welcomed 3,500 people to the area, offering directions to many of the town’s popular destinations with the Eventim Apollo, Novotel London West and Charing Cross Hospital proving the most asked for requests. She’s also a vital asset for recording environmental issues in the area.
During her time in Hammersmith, she has reported 35 environmental issues, ranging from graffiti and flyposting to illegal advertising and street lighting, 38 cleansing issues, such as on-street waste and phone box litter and other issues such as the number of charity chuggers, buskers and beggars in the town centre.
All this information gets recorded and sent to the relevant agencies and departments for them to deal with.
Luisa also engages directly with Hammersmith businesses on behalf of the BID and has met with some 323 times since she started.
She said: “I’ve really enjoyed meeting all the different types of people that come into the area, be it tourists, gig-goers or those here on business – all of them have been very friendly. Hammersmith has so much to offer that it’s been easy for me to help visitors as there’s so much to recommend and it’s been wonderful getting to know all the local businesses and residents, they’ve really helped my first three months fly by.
